Serving as a logistics hub for the entire Osaka and Hyogo area, the Akashi Mega DC has one of the largest storage capacities (Approx.60,000 pallets) and shipping capacities (Approx.80 million product cases per year) in the Coca-Cola system in Japan. Warehouse operations such as sorting, picking and inventory storage previously carried out at each sales center will be gradually integrated into the Akashi Mega DC. Targeted sales centers will become cross-docking type, with no inventory to build an efficient network that delivers products end-to-end to customers and vending machines.

By promoting automation and digitalization of facilities, the Mega DC aims to shorten personnel workloads and times required for outbound operations. In particular, the RORO (roll-on/roll-off) station which is a rare automatic facility on land- that allows for batch handling of products in approximately 1,500 cases. (*) Compared to forklift operation, the time required for loading and unloading trucks is reduced by approximately 70%.
* For 500ml PET bottle products

To respond quickly to rapidly changing market conditions, diversifying consumers and customer needs, CCBJI has been working on the "Shinsei Project" to optimize logistics systems and minimize costs in all areas. The Akashi Mega DC is one such project, following the Saitama Mega DC completed in February last year.

CCBJI is making efforts in “balanced and continuous improvements” and creating a “high-quality, low-cost, and stable” supply chain. In order to respond quickly to market conditions, as well as diverse needs of consumers, CCBJI will continue striving to build an optimal logistics system.
