Coca-Cola products donated to medical institutions and food banks
Support for local communities against the COVID-19 pandemic

As part of efforts to support local communities impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. (Headquarters in Minato Co.-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President Calin Dragan; hereafter ", CCBJI") began donations of Coca-Cola products to 50 medical facilities and 12 food banks. We will be sending 8,000 cases of beverages up to Dec. 25.

From around April this year to the summer, as the spread of Covid-19 infections impacted social changes on a daily basis, we discussed ways to support local communities through our business and have donated Coca-Cola products to local authorities, local medical associations and food banks. The donated products were distributed to medical personnel, working to prevent the spread of Covid-19, through local medical associations and to various welfare facilities such as children's cafeterias and children's centers through food banks.

In this donation, we will also present Coca-Cola products to medical personnel working to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and to support children and families adapting to the “new lifestyle,” through food banks. And to share the Christmas spirit, we will be visiting some facilities in lit-up trucks with a Santa Claus design.

Under our new corporate philosophy, “Paint it Red!”, we aim to fulfill our “mission” to deliver happy moments to everyone while creating value; work on CSV (Creating Shared Value) through our core business to address community challenges; and continue to join hands with various partners going forward.

■Donation of our products to food banks
Since 2016, CCBJI has been partnering with 22 organizations, including Second Harvest Japan (member of Alliance of Japan Foodbanks), which is Japan’s first Food Bank organization, and Food Bank All Japan Association, to donate our beverage products on a regular basis to children’s cafeterias and social welfare facilities, etc. through Food Bank organizations in different regions. Food banks refer to organizations or activities that deliver food to welfare facilities and people in need, by receiving food that must be disposed even though there are no quality issues, as donations from corporations. It is gaining more and more attention, particularly with the enactment of the Food Loss Reduction Promotion Act last year.
