Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. (Headquarters in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President Calin Dragan; hereafter “CCBJI”) on Thursday, January 23 signed an Agreement on Comprehensive Collaboration with Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture (City Mayor: Hiroko Ishii).
Taking the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 as an opportunity, the city is working on “fostering the Olympic momentum for its citizens and creating a legacy for the next generation.” By signing this agreement, Kimitsu City and CCBJI as partners will closely collaborate through discussions on better services for the citizens and community growth/development. Furthermore, the city and CCBJI will facilitate community revitalization by, for example, fostering the Olympic momentum and make efforts leading to a better life of the citizens in a wide range of fields, including education/people development, crime/disaster prevention, and health/sports.
Continuing to uphold “community-based” and “customer-centric” as the management principles, CCBJI will come close to the people’s lives and daily livings, and contribute to local communities as a total beverage company that delivers happy, refreshing moments every day, and in every occasion of their lives.

【Comment by Mayor Hiroko Ishii】
Kimitsu City has been getting ready for the torch relay of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 since its route was decided last year to pass through the city. In addition, boccia player Hirose, who lives in the city, has been informally selected to represent Japan in the Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, and we’d like to support him with the entire city. Within this context, we signed this collaboration agreement with Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. in an attempt to foster momentum towards the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 and revitalize the community, as the company is working on events and campaigns in cooperation with local governments. I’m pleased to work with them to foster momentum towards the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 through this agreement.
