Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc.
On March 26 (Tuesday), Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. (hereafter “CCBJI”, based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, and headed by Representative Director & President, Calin Dragan) signed an agreement on the operation of CCBJI’s vending machines installed at Mitsui’s Repark as Red Cross donation vending machines (hereafter “the agreement”) with Mitsui Fudosan Realty Co., Ltd. (hereafter “Mitsui Fudosan Realty”, based in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, and headed by President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yasuhiko Yamashiro) and the Japanese Red Cross Society (hereafter “Japanese Red Cross”, based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, and headed by President of the Society, Mr. Tadateru Konoe).
CCBJI signed the agreement as it endorses Mitsui Fudosan Realty’s passion for supporting the Japanese Red Cross that has been carrying out relief activities to protect the lives and health of victims at the time of occurrence of natural disasters such as earthquake or typhoon for approximately past 130 years and has been engaging in the prevention of disasters, disaster risk reduction and reconstruction efforts in recent years.
Based on the agreement, approximately 1,800 vending machines of Coca-Cola bottler companies*1 installed at “Mitsui’s Repark” parking lots nationwide will start operating as Red Cross donation vending machines (hereafter “donation vending machines”) on April 1 (Monday). CCBJI will donate the part of proceeds gained by Mitsui Fudosan Realty*2 from the donation vending machines operated by Coca-Cola bottler companies*1 to the Japanese Red Cross on behalf of Mitsui Fudosan Realty. The number of donation vending machines to be operated based on the agreement is larger than any other collaboration efforts promoted between the Japanese Red Cross and specific corporations/organizations involving donation vending machines in the past. In time of peace, donations collected will be used to provide the medical team of the Japanese Red Cross with training and hold disaster-prevention seminars for the purpose of enhancing “self-help” and “mutual help” in the local communities. In case of occurrence of large-scale disasters, the Japanese Red Cross will distribute the entire sum to people in disaster-stricken areas through Distribution Committee.
CCBJI will strive to create shared values while continuing to carry out its business activities based on its policies “community-based” and “customer-centric”.
