“For a company and a world with no passive smoking”

No smoking support program begins at Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc.

-Preventing lifestyle diseases and severe illnesses; supporting employees who want to regain their health-

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Holdings Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Tamio Yoshimatsu, hereinafter referred to as ‘CCBJH’) has drafted and implemented a non-smoking support program in collaboration with Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Health Insurance Association (hereinafter, Health Insurance Association), to create a company and a world with no passive smoking.

”Health Japan 21 (second term),” the basic policy for promotion of national health by The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, raises absolute prevention of lifestyle diseases and severe illnesses as one of the main pillars of the basic policy. In order to reduce the health hazards of smoking (a serious risk factor for lifestyle diseases) in the short and the mid to long-term, the Ministry has set a target for adult smoking at 12%, quantifying the number of people who will quit smoking (who want to do so), and are taking actions toward this goal.

At CCBJI, we found through a survey that nearly 46% of our employees are smokers, and with this program, we aim to prevent lifestyle diseases and serious illnesses and to support employees who wish to reconstruct their cigarette-damaged bodies back to a healthy one.
