Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. (headquartered in Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO Calin Dragan; hereafter “CCBJI”) today announced that it will begin offering Japan’s No. 1* energy drink brand, Monster Energy, through its vending machine channel from this summer, under an agreement with Monster Energy Japan (headquartered in Tokyo; Representative Mitsuhiro Matsumoto) and Asahi Soft Drinks Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Tokyo; President and Representative Director Kayoko Kondo; hereafter “Asahi Soft Drinks”), which holds the brand’s distribution rights in Japan.

Through this initiative, CCBJI will introduce a leading energy drink brand into its industry-leading, large-scale vending machine network, which is one of its core strengths, thereby expanding consumer choice and purchasing opportunities while aiming to drive significant revenue growth and improve profitability. This will contribute to value creation and accelerated growth in its vending business, as well as the achievement of the ambitious targets set forth in its strategic business plan, Vision 2030.
CCBJI will offer Monster Energy 355 ml cans, supplied by Asahi Soft Drinks, and begin sales through vending machines around this summer’s peak season. The product will be rolled out sequentially across CCBJI’s entire operating area, covering Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and 35 prefectures.
