Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. (Headquarters in Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO Calin Dragan; hereafter “CCBJI”), Chubu Kosan Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Valor Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters in Gifu; Representative Director and President Takayuki Koike; hereafter “Chubu Kosan”), and Sugi Pharmacy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters in Aichi; Representative Director and President Katsunori Sugiura; hereafter “Sugi Pharmacy”) launched a logistics collaboration in the Tokai region on October 1 with the aim of improving logistics efficiency.

This joint initiative consolidates the delivery locations of CCBJI’s Plants into the Kakamigahara Front Center of Chubu Kosan (hereafter “Hub Location”), which handles the logistics for the Valor Group. From there, Chubu Kosan transports products to the logistics centers of the Valor Group and Sugi Pharmacy, thereby improving truck loading efficiency and reducing drivers’ workloads.

Until now, CCBJI had been making separate deliveries to the Valor Group and Sugi Pharmacy locations. Under this collaboration, however, the transport from CCBJI’s plants will be centralized at Chubu Kosan’s Hub Location, enabling more efficient loading. Furthermore, with Sugi Pharmacy - operating a large number of stores across the Tokai region - added as delivery destinations, the initiative will also help address Japan’s “2024 logistics problem,” where driver shortages are becoming increasingly severe.
In addition, Chubu Kosan will centrally manage inventory, truck and driver allocation, and scheduling for deliveries from the Hub Location to each company’s logistics centers. This will level the workloads of both drivers and warehouse workers, while also ensuring the effective use of warehouse spaces.

This collaboration transcends industry boundaries, creating a new cross-industry scheme through active idea exchange among the three parties, in an effort to address social issues such as the increasingly serious “2024 logistics problem” mainly in the Tokai region.
Going forward, we will continue to work on solving social issues by making the most of limited logistics resources, while also ensuring a stable and sustainable supply of products.

■ Start date: October 1, 2025
■ Target areas: Transport areas mainly around the Hub Location (Chubu Kosan Kakamigahara Front Center)
■ Operation outlines

※ Front Center: A logistics site located close to consumption areas and/or retail stores. Unlike the conventional wide-area logistics centers, the Front Center serves to streamline final deliveries to stores and consumers. The Valor Group introduced this system in 2022.
