Under this Agreement, CCBJI and Mitaka City will work together in various areas including initiatives for vitalization of the community, strengthening of the citizens’ health and welfare, promotion of safe and secure city development, and conservation of environment.

As the first activity to be carried out under this agreement, CCBJI will place in Shimorenjaku Kodemari Children’s Playground a vending machine (VM) that features a wrapping designed to promote extensive recycling of beverage containers in hopes of using this machine as a trigger to raise the awareness of VM users toward the realization of circulatory society. This vending machine is a disaster-relief model which can also be used to offer emergency support, including providing drinks free of charge in the event of a disaster.

Moreover, CCBJI is also planning to partly use the VM proceeds to build and manage a Wi-Fi environment around the public facilities in Mitaka as an initiative to enhance the citizens’ communication means and convenience.

In accordance with its corporate philosophy, collectively represented by the motto, “Paint it RED! Mirai o nurikaero (Let’s repaint our future)”, CCBJI aims to fulfill its mission to “deliver happy moments to everyone while creating value” and will continue to join hands with various partners going forward to work on creating shared value in order to address the challenges faced by local communities through its business activities.

[Comment from Mitaka City Mayor Takashi Kawamura]
The ongoing risks of Covid-19 are still requiring us to keep staying vigilant to protect ourselves through the repetitive waves of surges in new cases and declines. Under such circumstances, I believe the strengthening of the citizens’ health and welfare included as one of the themes of our collaboration will be of greater importance going forward. CCBJI’s professional knowledge and diverse networks will, without question, help enrich the lives of our people in Mitaka. I look forward to seeing this agreement lead to highly meaningful collaboration in a wide range of areas.
