Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan signs "Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement" with Moriyama City, Shiga Prefecture
Joint efforts in various areas including installation of Food Loss Prevention Vending Machines

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. (Headquarters in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President Calin Dragan; hereafter “CCBJI”) on Friday, April 16 concluded a Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement (hereafter “Agreement”) with Moriyama City, Shiga Prefecture (Mayor: Kazuhiro Miyamoto) for the purpose of developing local community and improving resident services.

Under this agreement, CCBJI and Moriyama City will work together in various areas including the creation of momentum for and legacy of the Olympics and Paralympics and the prevention of crimes and disasters, to collaborate on initiatives that will lead to the development of local community and improvement of resident services.

Specifically, we installed Food Loss Prevention Vending Machines at the Moriyama City Environmental Learning Declaration Memorial Park Exchange Center Facility. The activity of installing Food Loss Prevention Vending Machines aims to reduce food loss based on "Responsible Consumption and Production" in SDGs, and gives endorsement to the No-Foodloss Project, which is led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. On Food Loss Prevention Vending Machines, products that have become surplus stocks are sold at about half the normal price in parallel with regular products. Surplus stock products are no different from regular products other than the point that they are close to the best-by dates (about 2 months before). We expect that selling Food Loss Prevention Products at lower prices will increase shoppers' opportunities to purchase our products and trigger an improvement in shopper awareness.

CCBJI has been collaborating with the city by donating Coca-Cola products to improve its community welfare, etc., and will take issues of the city comprehensively in the form of Comprehensive Collaborative Agreement, to work together for solutions.

We are very pleased to have concluded this agreement with Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Co., Inc. today. Also we would like to thank Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan for their generous support of various city government initiatives, including the Olympic Torch Relay and support for measures against the new coronavirus infection. We hope that this agreement will be a good opportunity for us to build an even better relationship.

In line with the signing of this agreement, CCBJI installed our first Food Loss Prevention Vending Machine in the city.
