A scene of handing over Calla lily
CCBJI's sales representative was consulted by Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture, that production volume of "Calla lily", the largest in Japan, had fallen sharply due to the effects of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.
When considering the possibility of cooperation by our sales representatives for more promotion and PR of "Calla lily", a cooperation was given from Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture to display them in the store window of NETZ TOYOTA SAITAMA Chuo Store for 3 days from April 24 (Fri) to April 26 (Sun).
Ms. Shori Sugii, a gardener from Saitama City, took charge of decorating the display with 300 "Calla lily" provided by Koito Flower Horticulture Association at no charge. Visitors to NETZ TOYOTA SAITAMA Chuo Store enjoyed the collaboration of the two cities which was born out of consultation from Kimitsu City, for 3 days.
Lovely Calla lily used for wedding bouquet and others
Japanese name of Calla lily is "Orandakaiu", a perennial plant in the family of Araceae native to Africa (also the national flower of Ethiopia). As Calla lily prefers to grow in the habitat condition on the water banks, the warm climate of Boso is ideal. Annual shipment from Koito Flower Horticulture Association stands at 1.8 million. Calla lily is popular for wedding bouquet as it gives graceful and elegant atmosphere.
In Kimitsu City, two kinds are grown: A slightly cream-colored Wedding March and whiter Aqua White. Reaching the peak season in March and April, both Wedding March and Aqua White are shipped until around the end of May.
Under our corporate philosophy "Paint it RED! Let's Repaint our Future.", CCBJI will aim to achieve our mission to "deliver happy moments to everyone while creating value.". In addition, we will remain committed to CSV (Creating Shared Value) and provide solutions through our business to the challenges that regions are faced with, and continue to seek for collaboration with all our partners.
