Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc.
Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. (Headquarters in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President Calin Dragan; hereafter “CCBJI”) announced an update to company rules, effective September 1, 2020, with an aim to promote bicycle commuting among employees as we adjust to working and living in a “with COVID-19” era.
All employees (excluding temporary staff) are now eligible for bicycle commuting, and employees who regularly commute using public transportation are free to choose bicycle commuting as well, according to their daily preference or circumstances.
CCBJI provides products and services that support people’s day-to-day lives, and we see it as our responsibility as a total beverage company to ensure that our employees can also lead active and healthy lifestyles. As part of our company health and productivity management program, CCBJI revised company rules to promote bicycle commuting to support employee mental and physical health and to help relieve stress while commuting. Furthermore, this policy lets employees choose bicycle commuting as an alternative to using crowded trains and buses to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection. CCBJI hopes that this policy will also be an opportunity for employees to better understand the environmental load of different commuting alternatives and make more informed and sustainable choices in their daily lives.
CCBJI promotes flexible ways of working in line with this new era of the coronavirus, such as providing digital tools to encourage remote working, avoiding commuting during rush hours, and providing childcare support for working parents whose children are studying online due to COVID-19 restrictions. CCBJI makes every effort to protect the well-being of our employees, while continuing to supply safe and secure products and fulfil our mission to deliver happy moments to everyone while creating value.
