New Hiroshima Plant Line 2 starts operation on July 3

Introducing latest manufacturing technology across Japan

Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. (Headquarters in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & President Calin Dragan; hereafter "CCBJI") started operation of a second production line at its brand-new Hiroshima Plant on July 3, leveraging world-leading manufacturing and automation technology. The Hiroshima Plant will cover the manufacturing capacity of the former Hongo Plant before the flooding disaster in 2018 as well as growing consumer demand, and will allow for stable product supply to the Chugoku and Shikoku regions of Japan. The new production Line 2 increases overall production capacity and allows for the production of innovative new products.  In addition, through innovation in plant automation and the introduction of the latest IoT technology, it will play a leading role in transforming production process management and work-style reform.

CCBJI announced investments in seven new production lines in 2019 and 2020 as part of its strategic business plan. Now that all seven new lines are up and running, CCBJI is well-positioned with a solid and renewed foundation for growth to respond to the changing market environment and diverse needs of customers and consumers.

The following are the seven new lines that have been newly constructed since 2019.

※Kumamoto, Hakushu, and Hongo are also operating warehouses that have introduced state-of-the-art technologies as part of recent investments in high-efficiency and stable product supply.

I am grateful that seven new lines have been completed as planned to ensure stronger manufacturing capacity. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation once again to all those involved in the construction of the new lines. As all of our new lines are designed to make full use of the latest technologies, I believe that they will not only enable us to continue to provide safe, reliable and delicious Coca-Cola products, but also these investments represent a commitment toward our future together with the communities in which we operate across Japan.
