In response to the ever-changing social environment amid the spread of COVID-19, Coca-Cola Bottlers Japan Inc. continues to work on community revitalization in various ways with the top priority on the health of all stakeholders.
As part of such effort, our staff members visited Yamagata Prefectural Hall and donated 3,840 Coca-Cola products and 1,000 masks on August 28 (Fri) to express our respect and sincere gratitude for the medical professionals who work hard every day to prevent the spread of infections in the prefecture. The donated items will be distributed to medical institutes through the prefectural government.
Mr. Sakai, Manager of the Health and Welfare Planning Section, said, "we have received messages from medical institutes thanking for the donation of such a lot of products".
Our relationship with Yamagata Prefecture
Under the belief that it is important to balance the infection prevention and economic recovery, Yamagata has declared "Yamagata Prefecture New Lifestyles" in efforts to widely promote "new lifestyles" as the basis for controlling the infections and to work with the people, business owners, and local governments of the prefecture.
In July 2020, we also donated 1,800 Coca-Cola products to athletes and staff members through the prefecture's High School Athletic Federation as a way of supporting an alternative event to the Yamagata Prefecture High School Sports Competition that was canceled due to the spread of COVID-19.
The number of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Japan has not yet decreased, and we must stay alert with the ongoing situations. However, it is the efforts of medical professionals, who are working hard in the front line even at this very moment, that many of us can stay healthy and that further spread is being prevented. To express our support and gratitude, we decided to use a form of donation of our products.
Under the corporate philosophy, "Paint it RED! !
